-
7. How much do heating/cooling projects cost?Projects vary in cost depending on factors such as materials/equipment, labor, and any seasonal promotions or rebates that may be available from contractors or utility providers. Visit our Ballpark Pricing page to get an idea of what this might cost before you submit a Homeowner Project Form.
-
11. What if I have a complaint or concern? You can always feel free to send us a message as we welcome any feedback that you wish to provide. We take complaints very seriously, especially if they involve a contractor. A negative homeowner experience can lead to a contractor being disqualified from partnering with us, so we definitely want to be notified in the event of this happening.
-
6. Can I arrange my own quotes outside of Heat-Cool Bids?Of course! You are free to call other contractors and set up in-home consultations if you wish.
-
3. Do I need to create an account? No. All you need to do is fill out the Homeowner Project Form each time you have a residential HVAC project in mind, and we'll do the rest.
-

-
9. What if I have a project other than HVAC?We strictly deal with HVAC projects, however many mechanical contractors offer services such as plumbing, electrical, and drains in addition to HVAC. So, when you are having a contractor bid your HVAC project you can discuss additional work with them at that time.
-
4. How long does it take to get bids? This all depends on the efficiency of the bidding contractors. We ask that contractors contact you within 24 hours of requesting permission to bid. Once they have made contact and scheduled the in-home visit, the contractor will be the one to determine how soon you get your proposals.
-
5. How do I know that the contractors bidding on my project are qualified to do the work? All contractors wishing to utilize Heat-Cool Bids must have current mechanical licensing subject to verification through the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry. Failure to hold a license or keep this current will disqualify any contractor from bidding on projects through Heat-Cool Bids. We require all contractors to abide by a good faith code of ethics with us. Though not legally binding, it sets out our expectations for what kind of service we would want the homeowners who use us to receive. We also have a code of ethics on the homeowner side, which helps to manage the expectations that our contractors have about connecting with homeowners.
-
10. Who handles customer service? The contractors are solely responsible for all communications with potential customers and for any procedures or processes used by their companies.

1. How does Heat-Cool Bids work? It's very simple. If you are a homeowner looking to have a heating or cooling system installed or replaced, you can complete the Homeowner Project Form. You will be asked about your project information, budget, timeline, and other pertinent details. We will then release this information to qualified contractors who can bid it out for you and give you a dollar-for-dollar quote.
